Facilities & Equipment
Within the radiobiology group we have specific expertise and facilities which can be used by other researchers as well. If you want to collaborate or make use of specific equipment, please contact one of the PI's.
Radiation equipment
- GammaCell 200 Irradiator (Co-60): Beta/Gamma irradiation
- XStrahl RS320 X-ray Irradiator: Gamma irradiation (small animals)
- Alpha-source (Am-241): Alpha-particle irradiation
GelCount colony counter
Automated detection, counting and analysis of mammalian cell colonies and organoids in culture flasks/plates.
Egg facility
The egg facility provides a rapid and cost-effective in vivo model using fertilised hen's eggs. The facility can be used for, amongst others,
- Xenograft tumor growth (cell lines, co-cultures or patient-derived tissues)
- Treatment efficacy and toxicity testing (drugs, irradiation, combination treatments)
- Angiogenesis research
- Tumor cell invasion research
Hyperthermia facility
The Hyperthermia facility provides the required equipment to study the effect of elevated temperatures on cell lines, organoids, or co-cultures under otherwise standard culture conditions, i.e., high humidity / 5%CO2. The facility can be used to study, amongst others,
- Drug/treatment sensitization
- Treatment efficacy and toxicity testing (drugs, irradiation, combination treatments)
- Hyperthermia in different in vitro and in vivo models
